Crippling Alcoholism - "Camgirl" (2025)

This release was recommended by Bandcamp.
Crippling Alcoholism are described with the tags "rock", "goth" and "noise rock", but I don't think it does them justice. In the whole, the sound is more innovative than just a bunch of tags, which is good. The lyrics are both violent and melancholy in an existential way, and even though the music is too harsh for my liking, it has gripped me. I listened to the first couple of singles and I immediately followed the band. 
After hearing the entire album, I'd say that it sounds like it was written by a gansta rapper with goth tendencies (but ashamed of them). Both music and lyrics sound like a very weird mix of Birthday Party, O.Children and Body Count, and a pinch of grunge at times. I would be delighted if Crippling Alcoholism decided to embrace the goth tendencies with a full heart, but, then again, of course I would.
I recommend listening to "Mr. Sentimental" and "LADIES' NIGHT (feat. Luxury Skin)".
