"The Fear Machine" is the fourth album from New York band Black Rose Burning, following "The Year Of The Scorpion", "The Wheel" and "Ad Astra". While the motto of the lyrics is still Love Won, Love Lost and Outer Space, this time there's a social/political commentary on current events. I especially like "Beautiful Disaster", which I myself would have named American Disaster but maybe that's not a smart idea in nowadays United States.
The album explores a sci-fi concept that has always intrigued vocalist George Grant, the existence of a secret, unseen machine that is powered by people's fear. (It's called inequality, George.)
"The Fear Machine" continues to provide the present-day post-punk loveliness we're used to, along with the charismatic voice of our friend George Grant.
I recommend: "Into The Black", "Beautiful Disaster", "Retro"
